An oak tree goes through many changes in its life cycle. They can absorb over 22kg of CO2 annually and provide food and habitat for wildlife. Also, oak trees offer ecosystem services like water regulation, soil stabilization, and carbon sequestration.

We have started our planting journey in France. A team of Green Core volunteers have been working very hard for the past few days to plant the donated trees.
There is a lot that goes into planting trees. Planting trees often starts with land full of weeds. It is not a perfect flat piece of land. The land must be first cleared before the trees can be planted.
This week we have celebrated a very special day, The UN International Day of Forests! The Green Core was founded to build our own non-commercial forest. We have already planted thousands of trees.
This month, the Green Core volunteers will plant 3.000 beech and oak trees in our forest. Together with our sponsors we will turn it into a forest and sustain biodiversity.
